Jesus. That was a ridiculous exchange. I'm a 4 stripe purple belt. Here u go friend. Work on grip strength. That's number 1 gi or no gi doesn't matter. Grips are #1 . Second work on mobility and core. Work on rotational strength and well.
You're telling this to a guy that's been on roids for a few years or more and works out all the time LOL His technique is garbage or his gear is fake.

No problem man. Hit me up whenever. Also that strength vs technique exchange was a little crazy. Strength matters big time
I thought that was obvious the guy's been working out for years on steroids You would think he had some strength by now . In the weight room grip strength comes with holding heavy weights. He must be doing circuit training . Sure that will help with your stamina but not overall power that's why I said focus on your technique and he got all sensitive like a little bitch. He's looking for some magical strength exercise that's going to turn him into a champion LOL

I wasn’t asking for magical exercises numb nuts, I asked for areas of focus genius. Your insults are about as generic as your responses. I don’t care if you’ve “been sticking up for me”. You mean about as much to me as a tissue I’ve used to catch cum in bud. If my gears fake then maybe we should be discussing the sponsors here 🤣 fucking waste of space and time you are. For someone who brings up Gordon Ryan you sure are playing stupid if you don’t think he hasn’t and doesn’t focus his strength training for jiu jitsu specifically. He’s not trying to get big he’s focusing on areas that strength plays a role in his skills. For someone who seems to think he knows what he’s talking about you sure have your head pretty far up your ass. I’m pretty confident from your blatant homophobia in every response you’ve ever made you might be closeted 😂 it’s no biggie bud come on out one is going to judge you

*Edit* for your ignorant ass turns out he does something that more resembles a body building workout, imagine that shit 🤦‍♂️ I should have known asking a bunch of aged out bros for help was going to result in a insult pissing contest
You proved my point lol .

Again I asked for areas of focus, you're so butt hurt your advice was brushed off. You realize going to the classes is WORKING ON TECHNIQUE right... For someone who clearly knows dick squat about BJJ you sure have some "MAGICAL ADVICE" :ROFLMAO: Funny though, everyone I roll with actually says my grip strength is incredibly strong and difficult to break. I guess the idea that over powering someone resisting you goes over your incredibly empty head though huh... I also approve of you quoting someone who literally says "strength matters big time" when that directly counters your comments... Funny how you ignore someone who is in BJJ to sound "correct" when again you've done nothing but prove your arrogance and ignorance. Thanks for coming back to try again though genius. You're next level bud!

Your an emotional wreck .Always have been Constantly on here asking for advice on every aspect of life hahaha. AGAIN nobody said strength isnt important . I assumed you already had that considering you're on here for so long I guess I was wrong. Keep getting thrown around like a rag doll and then ask Royce Gracie why he was easily able to beat guys three times bigger and stronger than him. I literally feel like my estrogen levels go up dealing with you so I'm done with this you can have the last word dweeb

Still have nothing of merit to add. Ignoring weight classes in the sport because it counters your arguments. I think it’s obvious you’re the emotional wreck here as you again cannot add anything to the thread but more personal insults and negativity. You’ve still have yet to add a single comment of merit and continue to cry about how I treated you. If you ever watch weight class mismatches you’d have the knowledge to know it doesn’t ever really pan out like your claiming. You still can’t comprehend that someone who is 5’5” and 200lbs (me) with the same skill level as someone who is 6’2” 240lbs (teammates) cannot over power someone for a kimura or americana even with both arms. Or being able to break their grip on a arm bar. See this is how i know you literally know absolutely nothing about this sport as I asked for areas of focus again like someone else said grio strength…notice they didn’t say technique…that’s because they know what they’re talking about and don’t need to just put their two cents in where they have no experience. You again even quoted someone who countered your claim of focus on technique and I was forced to explain my question to you again and here again because guess what, you’re an actual idiot. (Personal attack and lowest form of argument but sometimes that’s what you’re left with when arguing with women) (get it estrogen pun since yours rises arguing here yet here you are again) As for constantly asking for life advice you again clearly don't have comprehension ability. I assume you're referring to the other thread about my GF's, yet no advice was asked for (it's called venting frustrations Einstein learn how to read). My post history also begs to differ, but yours...it's literally just you calling guys gay or feminine... Sounds like you're really hoping some are and hit you up 👌 Knowing you won't be able to let this slide it's part of your MO :ROFLMAO:

breathing is a big one. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. I’ve seen big aka fat guys that have been doing bjj awhile tape guys just smothering them with their chest. learning not to panic. Grip strength and flexibility is key. Switching to more dumbbell work And kettle bells. Since you won’t get balanced weight working against a human.

It really went here, huh? Fucking Christ lol.

Oh well- it's a step up from petty, irrelevant political arguments where none of us have any control or REALLY know what is even true or a lie.

Hey bro, i have probably had the lowest and most petty arguments with @DieViolent , but the truth is that NONE of us are exceptional at anything lol. That's why we gravitate back to an internet discussion board and argue about people having discussions.

Some of us are in killer shape, some people have pretty good careers and do well for themselves, but nobody here is really that noteworthy in the grand scheme of the world.

i just find it easier not take ourselves and each other seriously. I don't really think any of us are bad people, and would bet that a lot of us would actually think people we dislike(d) on here are pretty cool in person.

It's an internet discussion board, it shouldn't really be a surprise or bother that people discuss things, ask questions, etc.

But i get it- we have all ran way more tren than we have had any business running in our lifetimes lol.

Carry on.

I got into bodybuilding because it was the one thing that I felt I could change for the better.
I'm never gonna be handsome but at least when I look in the mirror I can go...nice job jas.

I’ve been training with a dislocated rib for the last two weeks. I can’t spar which I really feel is the best way to dial in your technique but I’ve been able to do drills and continue to work that way. It’s rough sitting out what I consider the best and most fun part of training. I have at least another two or three weeks before I’ll be rolling again 😓

I'm going to prove I've grown personally since I was last active on this forum and not troll hahaha.

@DieViolent

Listen, I'm nobody special. Yet, I've always been a competitive multiple sport athlete. I wrestled for yeaaars until other sports took over. I'm only saying that so you know I'm not just speaking from my ass here. I didn't really care to read through the drama so I may miss something here. I've always refrained from bjj because I got hurt enough doing other wild things. I've had droves of buddies try to get me into it over the years. I feel having adequate wrestling and boxing skills is all one really needs. You reaaaally don't want to be caught on the ground in real life unless it's strictly 1 v 1.. and even then... ..I have an abnormally high amount of real life experience. BJJ is a nice skill to have and it's great exercise. I'd rather put my time into boxing for fitness but that's just me. (Less injuries)

With that said. I may be wrong, but you seem to be focused on strengths. I would focus more on endurance first, and second what Maddog stated which is great advice. Do drills or movements that are going to gas you out until you can't fucking breath. Lifting weights and having muscles is just a tool but it's not going to do shit for you once you are gassed. You've heard it a million times you don't grow muscle until you get to those last couple reps.. Well building rolling endurance is the same way. You gotta push till you are near collapsed to grow that endurance. If you are going against someone that has the same lvl technique but he out weighs you, your lvl of endurance will be crucial cause they will use that extra weight and strength to tire you out. If they have the same lvl of endurance and technique.. then usually it is what it is and that just the facts of life.

This brings me to the Elon vs Zuck fight. Find Elon's interview where he laughs and discusses this. I think it was with Rogan recently, I don't remember. There is a such a massive size difference between the two, Elon just laughs and says he'll just smother Zuck. I'm not saying smaller guys with better technique don't beat bigger guys.. but there is a point where it kinda doesn't matter, at least in sport BJJ and wrestling. There are always some exceptions, but it is what it is.

And that sir, is my 3 cents. Have a merry Christmas.

Vince Lombardi once famously said, "Fatigue makes cowards out of all men". So i agree- it's not about being good at whatever sport or technique you are fresh, it's about being good at it when you're fucking gassed. Because that's how it actually goes in competition.

Absolutely. Being able to preform after hitting the wall is crucial.

When our head wrestling coach had us rolling at the end of practice. He didn't count anything until we began gassing. He'd just stand there until that point, and then start coaching. We couldn't stop until he was satisfied we were spent. My coaches were extra hard on me. I rocked anybody in and near my weight class. Many times I'd roll someone, and then with no break.. have me roll fresh meat.. and another person until they were satisfied. No break.. I can't count how many times my teammates had to pick me up and walk me off the mat.

You gotta do more than just your sport if you want to be good. You gotta put in that extra work after practice. Used to; Eat -school - eat - football practice - eat a snack - wrestling practice - eat again - lift weights - eat a snack - run (not jog) 3-4 miles or swim - eat again - sleep. Repeat... 5 days on 2 off. If I didn't get at least 10 hours of sleep.. I wouldn't recover.

LOL man this brings back memories.

I never wrestled but i did play football and basketball. All your fundamentals and mechanics go to shit when you are gassed in any sport you play.

i never wrestled, other than fucking around with my friends when i was younger. One time a buddy of ours kept running his mouth, and of course my friends just egged me on to keep whipping him for like 3 hours straight. I was rag dolling him effortlessly, nothing to be proud of bc the dude was just a straight up pussy, thats why they all thought it was funny, but i remember being gassed, and the next day my entire body from head to toe was sore af.

I don't disagree with endurance training. I have heard my coaches and seen other coaches on Youtube discuss though how if someone is stronger they will inherently use less energy comparable. Basically if I am going 100% the entire time defending and attacking while my opponent is only using 60% I will always gas first. Conditioning won't matter in the run of things because the stronger guy doesn't need to exert himself nearly as much. That is why I am focusing on strength currently as endurance is built in our cardio warm up's doing wall balls, straight arm holds ect. as well as 10 min rolling rounds. If I can bring my strength up while I continue to work technique and endurance in class I will see a far greater return.
