PR in bench

Just want to celebrate! Hadn't benched in a month (doing dumbell work). Went back tonight, 275x4, perfect form, bottom pause, very smooth and steady -- powerlifting contest acceptable. For me, that's really a big PR! 315 . . . here I come!! :D

Good job bro,

I am trying to curl 200pds for 1 rep as a personal record for myself.

I get up to 170pds and I can do it once. I just want to curl 200pds 1 time.

These are not clean curls. These are cheat curls.

Anyway good job.

Just wanted to update:

No shirt, chalk, no wrist wraps, 315x2 no touch from my spotter!!

I have arrived. Thanks for all the support. It's a dream come true :D

My titan fury shirt is on the way . . . then you'll see some numbers . . . I'm so happy right now I could bust a nut without touching myself even.

Nice job bro! Always nice to see a fellow powerlifter on here. I don't know how experienced you are with shirts, but if you need any advice or tips I'd be glad to help.

Excellent PresaDog and Matto! We need to start hitting this subforum up with powerlifting stuff.

I'm getting my Titan Fury from Earthquake. Will have it shipped overnight. Will I be able to get 315 to touch in that shirt? I ordered one size bigger than my chest, so as to get a "meet" fit. I was going to put the shirt on at 315lbs, then hit that, 365 and then 405. Do you think 315 *** double can get 405 in that shirt? The new wrist wraps oughta give me 5-10 lbs too I can tell.

I got squat questions too. Hit up my PR squat thread if you want to make squat comments. I've got a few questions about my form and squat suits.

I wouldn't mind seeing a separate PL forum! Rationalist, how tall are you? The ability to touch with a shirt has a lot to do with how long your arms are, or more simply put, how far does the bar have to travel? You will only get X amount of stretch from a poly, so if the bar has to travel more than 10-12 inches the stretch can't start at the top or you won't touch. Guys who have a short bench stroke, or tremendous lockout power generally get the most out of a shirt. If you have a long stroke you'll need to do a lot of board pressing to have the power to lock out 4 bills. I have a training partner who's bench goes from 450 to 555 with a Fury. Thats drug free at 181 by the way!
He pushes about ten inches so his shirt starts stretching as soon as he unlocks his elbows. I have another friend who pushes about twenty inches, he only gets about 25 pounds from the shirt. These newer shirts take a lot of practice to perfect, best of luck to you and let us know how it goes!

Very good job at that weight!

I'm 210lb, but the 315 is ***. My shirt should be here Tues. I'm actually going to do full WSB now, so my lockout power should go up. I'm going to do board presses this week or so. Off to Lowe's for the boards, in fact :)

I'm kinda new to powerlifiting, and the bodybuilder in me has some growing pains. It's odd to me to spend so much time working the no-show muscles like low back, hip flexors and hammies. There are no pumped up arms to show off after a workout. But my strength and confidence are going up.

Do you do westside? We really need a powerlifting board here. I wonder how we could get one started?
