I am thinking of making the plunge to buy a Ps5, but not sure how great of an idea it is.

i want ps5 because they have all the Dungeons & Dragons games - Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, Dark Alliance, etc. i play Madden and FIFA, but only really when other people are around.
What I'm worried about is if this will be obsolete by the time PS6 launches in 2026, and if it's fair to assume other RPG's in this genre will come out in the mean time.

A buddy of mine is always pushing the PC building route, but that takes up too much space and it's kind of a pain in the ass to have to use a keyboard and find the game on a desktop.

So pc master race here :ROFLMAO: but in all seriousness 2-3 years isn't a bad timeframe for the investment if you're into gaming. I personally am pissed they have the newest spider-man gam exclusive for who knows how long till I'll be able to get it but with the cost of a pc build, the quality get form it I can't justify buying a Ps5. I actually love using keyboard and mouse over a controller at this point but I have about 14 years as a PC gamer now and it's second nature. If you do go PC, Steam is where almost every game is except a handful of titles. I'd say for the price and time frame go PS.

PC is fucking impressive. My boy is super into this shit and knows all the tricks and his set up is sweet. My nephew who used to be a pro gamer also says the same shit. I haven't COMPLETELY ruled it out either, as I suppose i could also use it for Netflix and other movie sources if i need to. If i can find a tower that isn't big and clunky i might lean that way.

Im 41 and where I work I have no friends - my bro got me a Xbox series X a few years ago- that thing has saved my ass in more ways than one

gives my crazy ass something to focus on when Im solo all the time but its also a way for me to unplug and sort of relax

my bro has a PC and a PS5 - he loves them - I am more impressed with PS5 because there are more single player games, Xbox is kind of kid focused it seems

I honestly just play CoD all the time - if I didn't have gaming Id prob be in prison or shacked up with some crazy woman

I'm hooked on the old school analog d and d
At 53 I still play with some of my buddies over the weekend....not weird.

Part of the reason why im not in a rush is because i bought a hacked/modded SNES emulator console with SNES controllers and 450+ NES and SNES games all burnt on it. All the Zeldas, Dragon Warriors, Mega Man's, Mario's, Castlevania's, Metroids... you name it, i got it.

This is the case I'm running. It shows it's 18.5" long 18" tall and 8.5" deep. Not terribly large while still able to fit a full size ATX mobo and AIO water cooler. I have a top mounted 240mm radiator stuffed in mine.

I play daily, mostly COD, but like a lot of types (Diablo/Lords of the Fallen/Elden Ring/Destiny2/any Sous type game......)
I have both PS5 & Xbox Series X. Mostly on PS5 now, it seems brighter for some reason, and my kids/grandkids play son PS.
Was looking forward to Starfield on Gamepass, but haven't touched it after first month out.

I just scooped a PS5. It's pretty bad ass. How do you like Elden Rings? That's one of the games i was eyeing.

Awesome game, pretty hard at moments.
Another couple games I enjoyed that are similar, is Lords of the Fallen, and Lies of P, both of which are stunning with a good monitor/tv. I game on a 77" LG-C2 and games look breathtaking.
Remember, you can get help in Elden Ring/L:eek:rds of the Fallen/ but NOT Lies of P. These souls-like games Can and Do get frustrating often 😂:devilish:

My boy tried to tell me the Ps5 isn't even really worth it unless you have a 4k TV, which I don't. True?

My boy told me that PS5 aint really worth it if you don't have a 4k TV. Obviously i believe it makes a difference. Is he wrong tho?

im stuck on Neverwinter Nights EE for now, which is like ps3ish graphics.

I can’t really say not owning one (ps5) myself. He may be right.

IMO, well worth it.
It actually up-scales older games with better graphics, as long as you have a recent tv.
Also, loading times of games is extremely fast.

Any insight on Neverwinter Nights or Baldur's Gate? I've played NWN before and playing it right now, but there are some glitchy areas and im fucking stuck bc i did something I wasn't supposed to and there is no way to un fuck it. Might just try Baldur's Gate, which i have read has better reviews
