I hit chest heavy every time.

My training style is different. I don’t have a number of sets or reps.

I do the exercise an average of 6 sets. I really base it on the effectiveness.
If I’m trying the lift and I barely get any reps, I quit.
So I basically come out the gate heavy. And I rep it will I can’t anymore. Once I feel too weak for an effective lift, I move to the next exercise.

For example, chest. I’ll bench press 315 10 times. Then 8. Then 8. Then 6 then 4. That’s my cue for the next exercise

Today was:
Incline bb bench 7 sets
Flat press 6 sets
Decline 6 sets
Cable fly 4 sets
Incline press smith machine 4 sets

Holy smokes that’s high volume

Is that 1x a week????

What’s the rest of your weekly routine look like?

Yep, once a week.
I only train Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
3 days a week.

Split is simple and prehistoric.

Chest and tris
Back and bis
Legs and shoulders

Go high volume on each body part like you do on chest? If you do that other fours days of the week is definitely recovery time.

Oh that’s very interesting

I recently did a legs / shoulder combo workout because I missed shoulder day

Went like this:

Hack squats
Leg ext
Leg curl

DB upright rows
Dips
Laterals
Shrugs (machine, quick sets)

How’s your routine on the leg / shoulder day?
