My Workout

Okay, I just started working out again after a few years and this is how I have been working out. Please let me know if there is anything I should change I am going for mass since I've already got the weight to work with and lifting heavy is what I love so here goes:

Monday: Chest, tri's. (Always finish off with abbs every night)
Tuesday: Back, Bi's
Wednesday: rest
Thursday: Shoulder's, Shrugs.
Friday: Legs, arms. Not sure if I should hit arms on this night but man I love being able to dedicate a full workout on just my arms I get a pretty good pump and it feels great. I'll usually do my legs first, rest for a while and then hit my arms hard, I get a killer workout on them. I may start working legs on Saturday but for some reason I always have the energy to hit arms after, must be because they are a small muscle group.

Please let me know what I should change. I've noticed pain in the middle of my forearms around Wednesday (I've only been working out for a week and already notice a difference as far as stamina and strength) but the guy's at the gym sware up and down that it is just tendonitis and just deal with it until the pain finally subsides, it's not too bad just hurts mostly when doing skull crushers. Thanks in advance. I try and do 3 workouts per muscle group for instance with chest I do bench, incline, flys, will be doing decline tomorrow as well.

Thanks for the info. I've decided to just dedicate working out arms on just Friday's. After my chest workout tonight my tri's were absolutely dead. Did a pretty solid chest workout. This is the beginning of my second week working out. First week I was doing 30 pound dumbells on incline press and was struggling to get 4 reps tonight I was doing 55 pound dumbell weights for incline. I did not start out with this this was for my last 2 sets which were around 8 and then barely made 6 for my last one.lol I think that's pretty good I'm only benching 185 but it feels heavy as hell to me, I start off with 135 to warm up,then put 2 10's on each side and do 10 reps, take them off and put 25's on each side(185 pounds) and then do about 6 to 8, then finish off with another 2 sets of about 6 or however many I can push. Put it this way by the time I'm done with benching there is absolutely nothing left in my chest it is completely dead. It's funny seeing all these skinny guys putting up 3 times the amount and I'm twice their size but I've got to realize that I just got back into this the strength will come. I also screwed up this weekend and smoked alot of weed. I'm not putting weed down or anything but damn does it make you weak, so I'll be laying off of that for sure.

Maybe I'm not reading right, but from what I see, you're working your arms twice a week. Have you had better gains in the past by doing this as opposed to once a week?

IMO, I wouldn't use 3 different excercises on small muscle groups such as bis and tris. I'd say to use 2 and rotate between different excercises every month or so. Any more can be considered a recipe for overtraining.

I've had this discussion with grizz on another board, and we were dumbfounded as to why people do the same amount of excercises for their arms as they do for their legs and backs.

To put it in short form, less excercises for smaller body parts, more for larger bodyparts.

Your weed theory is mind boggling, is there any scientific study that says smoking weed reduces muscle strength? I'm not saying there isn't, i'm just curious.

Well, weed may not make you weaker but it takes all my motivation away and makes me lazy so I'm not doing it anymore. I'll be working out arms only once a week now(Friday's) because like you said I can't stand doing them after chest or back. I'll also stick to 2 workouts for arms thanks for that information I'd really hate to start over training.

When I was in college my best workouts where when I was high. Everyday smoked a blunt w/ my partner before hitting the REC. Best workouts ever and was the biggest I have ever been. Its a shame I had to stop

I think it is just the particular strain I've got that tends to make me slow the next day. I'm getting some"Blueberry" soon and I'll see if it effects my workouts because being high is a good thing and I really love it and would hate to quit.
