Introduction: TRT newbie

Greetings gents,

A friend of mine on another forum recommended this place as helpful. I've always been into lifting and for the last few months the gym stopped being good to me which was a huge problem because it's my primary stress release. Wish it was over training but I took several weeks off on December. Bloods came back with my test at 250 ng/Dl. Second test was 272 ng/dl. Utterly pathetic.

Got prescribed TRT for hypogonadism. Lots of blood work showed low T. Symptoms were honestly just feeling like an old man in my mid 30s.

Requested 100ml of test c a week and so far it's been great. I'm going to see if I can switch to 75ml every 3.5 days for a total of 125ml or maybe bump it up.

Low key, I've always wanted to do some cycles but never nutted up the courage to do it. Hoping to change that now that my balls decided to stop doing their job.

Will be investigating hcg shortly too to keep the fertility going. Anywho glad to be here.

Cheers tha is gents. I've been slowly opening my eyes to this world. Always knew it was there and glad I'm finally here now.

Tempted to start a more serious cycle once I get comfortable giving myself shots.

Make sure you have down how often your blood draws are going to be for your doc and plan accordingly if your going to add in anything.

They will drop your dosage down if you come back sky high.
I've been on trt since I was 37 or so with about an 8 month break due to Fertility stuff.

Currently on 130mgs every 4 days, it keeps levels much more steady.

I will suggest giving yourself a solid 6 months on just your trt to get a baseline of how you feel before considering anything extra.

Much appreciated. I'll keep that in mind.

No problem. If I was looking at just general well being, this level at trt brought me in at 1200 (not sure what my free test level was). I feel great physically, probably dropped 6 years Off how I feel.

Now to put me in the whoaa category then I'll be adding. With a decent diet I would would be ripped probably.

I would like to start TRT but it seems very time consuming and expensive. I am 58 years old and I know my free test is in the tank.

Welcome to OLM brotha

The worst part of any cycle is PCT and now you're exempt! ;)

As mentioned above, settle into TRT for the time being. This will allow you to get a feel for how exogenous hormones react in the body. It's an opportunity to be more prepared for your first cycle rather than playing a guessing game and potentially bring on more unwanted side effects. Plus, it's wise to follow protocol as you build a relationship with the TRT doc (assuming this isn't your primary).

Go to a low t clinic, not a doctor. The only reason I now go back to my doc is it's cheaper and he agreed to keep me at the dose the clinic had me at.
They will test you several times all before 1030 am and if your number is under the amount (350) I think, then your insurance should cover it.

I'd advise to go this route before doing it yourself. It's legal and if there is ever a hold up with a source or issues arise down the road at least you have legit gear Coming in. Plus they will draw you for any other issues you may have blood wise

I got really lucky.

Started at a clinic. The cost for going to the clinic was astronomical. 200$ a month. They were good and definitely understanding but the cost was killing me. My insurance required x < 300 ng/dl which I definitely had.

On a whim I started looking around and found a urology group who had a doctor specializing in TRT. I booked an appointment.

Told him my story, "low T, symptoms, went to clinic, all is well and I love it, but it's too expensive and I just want to get my meds from a pharmacy."

Basically said," I know that feel". Wrote a script and we booked the 6 month old blood draw. The pharmacy I picked blew me away because my insurance of all things is covering my test prescription at $7 a refill vs the $200 I used to get. No way I'm going to beat that .

Yep. I think mine is like 25 bucks for a refill. Cheaper than the 100. The clinic got me where I wanted dosage but then had issues with shipping and I was getting it late.
