Has anyone heard of Semaglutide. (Ozempic generic)

My wife is asking me about a weekly injection called Semaglutide. Apparently her friend is on it weekly from an online clinic and is losing a lot of weight. I believe it targets fat same way hgh does but I could be wrong. Anyone know anything about this drug or have experience using it?

I know several people who has used it, including my wife.
Check out a thread over at Direct.

But its a drug for diabetes. Lower your blood sugar I think.
It suppresses apatite and makes it hard to eat for most.
My wife did not care for it that much since she was nauseated all the time then started to feel like shit.
She might have started at too high of a dose but she didnt use it long.

It works great for weight loss.

I've been using it & I've lost 40# in about 6 months. I never should've been in the position to have 40# to lose, but my A1C was climbing, insulin sensitivity was horrible, and I was concerned about my overall health.

I also did daily fasting cardio over that time, which aided the weight-loss too. I got mine from Amino Asylum. I started ridiculously low at 0.25mg, then increased by 0.125mg every 3 weeks.

In my opinion, I think this drug should be used by obese, pre-diabetic people, not those needing/wanting to lose a few lbs.

My wife was prescribed ozempic for metabolic syndrome. They advised her to take .5mg a week and work up to a higher dose I can’t remember what that was. But even at .5 mg a week she asked the doctor to lower the dose bc she was losing so much weight. Made her skin and bones.

Why?
Just curious why you think its only obese and not the rest of us slobs.
I lost so much weight with 1/4 of the normal dose. It's safe to say I lost muscle mass in the process, but I'm only using TRT and training sporadically at the time. My appetite got to the point where I could be satiated from one meal per day. There's no way I could've eaten like a bodybuilder. I suppose that anyone wanting to look better could be a candidate, but I think it would be too risky for a competing bodybuilder to use.

Any idea what weekly dosage she was on? I’ve seen some say .5 mg a week all the way to some guys running 4-5 mg a week.

She said she dont recall what she was running it at.
But it was pretty low I think. She just felt like crap when she ran it.

I am in need of dieting off about 25lbs. For me even 25lbs of weight throws me into pre diabetes and maybe a level I shouldn’t even use the “pre” anymore. I was wanting to use hgh and test as a means of HRT now that I’m 48 years old but concerned about hgh making my already insulin resistance (A1c if 6.2) even worse. Would Semaglutide help me lower these. I was planning to diet using low carb anyways but thought maybe adding Semaglutide would help push blood sugars down even more. My fasting blood sugars are about 105 ish and when I eat really crappy bunch of junk and sugars I’ve seen it jump to 165-170. If I eat clean and low carb (chicken and broccoli ) it stays 120 or below

You would benefit from using semaglutide in lowering A1c, decreasing fasted blood sugar, and losing weight.

The old studied data (some anecdotal) was using 0.5mg-0.625mg about 4x/wk. Now I see 5mg once a week and see these Rybelsus tabs (Novartis) anywhere from 3mg to 14mg. Have no idea about the regime. From what some physicians are saying the once a week is not written in stone and may not be optimal? I
