Fat America

I have a degree in electric. My work history has also led me to become a skilled machinist, welder, fabricator, designer, etc. Most industries don’t pay too bad but my best job so far was with a snack food company. I just woke up to an offer with a candy company as a controls electrician that I’m gonna take. It’s just shy of $40/hr. Just wanted to share this because I think it’s a bad reflection on America that the highest paying jobs come in industries that ruin people’s lives (sugar, tobacco, lawyers, etc.). It’s kind of a moral dilemma for me but I’m not turning down that money. At least they won’t have to worry about me taking product 🤪

Its insane what some people eat.
Have you ever watch my 600lbs life? Fascinating to see how some people enable the fat whales.
Doctor is literary telling them that they will die but they continue to eat and enable.

The super processed food is all over now. We are seeing much more colon cancer in young people.
Its become a shit show and we are not allowed to tell people they are fat because it might hurt their feelings.

At least your have a trade/skill to provide them for the $40/hr.

They blame the employee at Burger King for taking $22/hr to flip burgers.

The reality is that the shit food industry in our country is a trillion dollar industry that supports the ancillary industry of over cost for health care, pharmaceuticals and cancer treatment.
This country’s economy depends upon obesity diabetes and cancer and they will pay whatever it takes to kill you for a profit.

IMG_5890.jpegSaw this last year. Shouldn’t exist….

Some people are proud of their obesity. I don’t get it.

No I’ve never watched the 600 lb life. Can’t stand “reality” shows. Honestly don’t watch tv at all since the NFL became so politicized

It’s all a very intricate web of fuckery. Kudos to the engineers but can’t we have some basic human decency…

And I hate the fact that most clothing is tailored for the out-of-shape. When I get something that fits my shoulders, the rest of it looks like a dress. I’ve found some shirts on Amazon that I really like and fit well. However, I like to get shirts with politically incorrect messages but they all usually fit like shit

As somone that has lost 80lbs in the last year, I can say first hand Americans approach to wellness is fucked. Pre-diabetic, high blood pressure, and pitting adema, my doctor never once had a discussion on diet or nutrition. The first time my weight and health was really addressed was recommending bariatric surgery. That was my last time at that doctor (and any for almost two years.). Luckily I figured it out. GLPs, Test, intermittent fasting, stopping the booze, and training easily fixed the situation. It certainly was not my doctors fault I got into that situation. But they did jack shit FOR years to help me avoid it or get out of it. I was just telling my wife that wellness and financial education should be mandatory courses starting at a young age. But I think we all know why, the health care system really makes money off the ill. Healthy people don't spend.

I applaud you for bettering yourself and taking the initiative to go about it on your own. People get too complacent. Laziness is running rampant. Many are willing to accept shitty situations simply because they don’t want to put in ANY effort to make it better. With all the new “smart” items being introduced, laziness is promoted. When people ask me how I got as big as I am I tell them that my muscles are implants. Surprisingly, some actually believe it. My answer to those who don’t is “time and effort” which is true. Sure, AAS help a lot but I still put in the work.

Many of you know I have a 100% travel job
USA and international
I have about 200 coworkers that share the same position as me, we are training instructors in the software industry
In the last 11 years I’ve bumped in to a co-worker at the gym a grand total of 3 times
90% of my coworkers are beyond just “fat”
Most of them are borderline obese to morbidly obese
Nobody goes to a gym to workout
While a few here and there will do the “hotel” gym it’s few and far in between
Most of my coworkers life is work - hotel and food/meals in between with no sense of healthy proper diet
It’s freaking shocking

I used to have a job that required quite a bit of travel. It was the same group of us for every trip so I got to know the others’ habits and such. Two of the lumpy ones actually didn’t eat all that much but they didn’t make the healthiest meal choices, only ate one or twice a day and they weren’t very active. It seemed as though they just abhorred movement. My boss at the time had a motto: “Never do anything yourself that you can get someone else to do for you.” He definitely lived by that motto. The people that really crack me up are the ones that have a garbage can within reach wherever they are. Smdh….

I used to watch that show regularly & I am amazed at the amount of abuse & punishment the human body can withstand.

Those 600+ lb people have A LOT going on upstairs. Huge element of major depression and low IQ as well. Weight aside, every time i listen to them talk is very cringe.

Some meth-head in my old town wanted to check out over a girl. He ate an entire road flare along with some other meth cooking ingredients 🤢 All after being awake for many many days and eating nothing. He’s still around occupying otherwise good space. People can be pretty resilient, like cockroaches. Hell, some people are cockroaches.

Another guy I actually knew told me he copied the DMX movie and gave his chick the white shit off of a car battery terminal. She’s still running around chasing the dragon. I believe he’d really do such a thing but can’t say whether or not the story is true

American medical practices are a business before anything. Never forget that.

Big pharma and your doctor make $0 profit off you correcting your health ailments off of simple lifestyle and diet changes.

I don't count on Doctors or anyone else to advocate for my health. And I don't think it is reasonable to blame a anyone but ourselves for being obese or hypertensive morons. If you don't understand the link between physical fitness and overall health you have your head up your ass. If you are such a chronic pussy that you can't modulate your eating - yup, a doc will write a script. And Yup, when you quit it, you will gain it all back - your choice.

Doctors are not your mommy.

Yeah, profits matter in our US health system. But some fucking common sense is 90% of the equation.

I will say that many people get lost in there own heads. A doctor, friend, or loved-one who can get there attention is all that many need. Your fucking up, you can fix this, it is easily addressed. But the starting place is recognizing your lifestyle is killing you and that only you can fix it.
