Hey all, i just wanted to say that i am very glad i found this forum today. For the last couple of years (2) i have been going to school full time (college) and working a second and third shift job. Durring this time, due to lack of rest and proper nutrition my body pretty much took a dump on me. I used to lift and work out regularly in highschool, and got to a pretty comfortable size for me. Now, after leaving my third shift job i am begining to see the repercussions of abusing myself that badly. I am 6'2 - 6'3, broad build, and i weigh about 290 lbs. I am sick of being like this, and now that i have the time to fix myself i would like to. I am hoping to get down to about 260lbs or less by the middle of May. Starting today i would like to compile a work out regimine, but i really don't know what to do. Like i said i used to lift in highschool, but i was not nearly as out of shape as i am now. I do not want to hurt myself by starting to heavy and to fast so soon, does anyone have any recomendations? Also, pain is my friend so hold back the suggestions about certain exercises or what not. Also, i would like to do it without the help of any steroids. Herbal supplements and what not are ok, but not roids.

Thanks so much!

At that height/weight im wondering what your bf% is?or at least a guestimate?
As far as training, especially naturally,I am unsure if there is a link on this board to it,,,perhaps someone can provide a specific link but i know on intense training and a few others it goes into detail on dogcrapp or DC style training, follow that to the letter and Im pretty damn sure you will love it...I am.
You want to stay away from the sauce,ok.Read up on r-ala,acetyl l-carnitine,green tea extract, conjugated linoleic acid...a good multivit/min,creatine for post workout.Thats it off the top of my head,Im sure youll have plenty of guys chimin in here soon to help you out.Good luck bud.

Nice post bro.......good advice.

I would also add a good protein powder to your regimine. As far as diet would be concerned......eat lean sources of protein (top round steak, top sirloin, chicken breasts, etc, etc), green veggies (broccoli, salad), and cut those carbs off early in the day. It would be helpful to know what "bodytype" you are as well.

If you want more info regarding DC training, I can point you to a couple of boards where there is a whole ton of information. I do DC training and have been for quite some time......it's a great program, but is not for everyone and generally not for beginners.

Thanks a bunch juggernaut333. I really don't know what my body fat is right now, but lets just say it most definetly isn't where it should be. I am pretty willing to do what ever it takes, if that means no drinking, no smoking, no sweets, not snacks, hard work, whatever! I did it once, i know i can do it again and keep at it permanently.
