I agree with Phreezer.... I've been down just about every road there is, being 57 YO. Listen to him, he nows what he's talking about. I started training half assed about 32 years ago, in Venice CA. I got serious about training at about 35, that's 22 years ago. I was 6'1", weighed 185. I did gain 30 pounds the first year, but at least half of it was fat. At least people started to notice changes in my body. I then started down the road of endless cycles, sometimes it worked, sometimes not. I trained up to a sloppy, albeit strong, 265 about 7 years ago. That's when I finally said to myself, " I have spent many years training, what do I want to do, continue in the same rut, quit training entirely, or teach myself everything I could about living the Physical Culture Lifestyle. I chose the latter. In a nutshell, I have learned what works for me; that being training my whole body 3 days per week, say Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Each W/O lasts 100 - 120 minutes. Now, at 57', I am 6'1", 235-240, I have 19 1/2" arms, a 50" Chest, a 36" Waist, 19" neck, 32" Quads, 18 1/2" calfs. My wrists are only 6 1/2", so I am small boned. I don't know when or how it will all end, I know my best years are behind me, but I have 3 kids, 5 grandkids, A beautiful wife, my Mom is still around at 83, we are both retired, we live in a Townhouse on the Beach with no Mortgage, and if you asked me how I did it, I have one word ........ LOVE. my Wifes. I owe everything to her.
For all you guys who took the time to read this, Thank you. And Phreezer, a special Thank You, because when I read your Thread, it caused me to think about life, how lucky I am, and how short life really is, Peace.
