I started training with Pete Rubish again and the goal is to get me into Boss of Bosses 6 in August. February 26th is my birthday and Pete wants me to pull 661/300kg on my birthday.

Thanks, today was relatively easy. I did the following:

Deadlifts:

225x2
315x1
405x1
475 2 sets of 3
475 for a set of 3 to 8 but I did 9 because I canít count

Paused deadlifts:
385x6

High Bar Squats:
45x5

185x1
235x10 Cake Walk
235x5 Cake Walk

Paused deadlifts

Today was Bench and I did the following:

5x3 265 followed by 265x6

Alternating hammer curls
5x20 25s

Face pulls
3x20 paused with 60lbs

So Monday is supposed to be bench and deficit deadlifts but the gym closes at noon since itís Christmas Eve. So I decided to bench today and do deficits on Monday.

Today was bench:

235 4x6
235x10

Today was ďheavy benchĒ, I did the following:

45x8

255x8

DB Alternating Hammer Curls:
5x20 30

Face pulls with pauses:

3x18 80lbs (RPE 8 or lower)


I attempted light squats for the first time since my SI joint injury and everything felt fine minus being a little tight. I worked up to the following to assess pain and/or discomfort.

45x8
135x5

Everything felt fine so we are doing some light sets with 185 next week.

I had a sinus infection all week and Iím finally getting over it. I should be 100% no later than Wednesday.

January 2nd was DB bench:
25s for 15
55s for 5
85s for 18 paused reps
85s 3x10 no pause

Thursday was deadlifts:

135x5
225x3
315x2
405x1
535x5
485x5

445x5 paused deadlifts

Friday was Barbell Bench, sinus infection wrecked me so hard.

265x7.5 paused
265 4x3 paused

Tomorrow is deficit deadlifts and squats, it will be my 2nd squat session since my SI joint injury. Iíll keep everyone updated. Monday and Thursday of this week are key days as I will be benching on Monday with a comp bench, bars and plates. Thursday is deadlifts on a comp bar and plates. It will let me know how my strength is coming along on this cruise.

Today was barbell bench yet again, I had to train at about 8am while fasted so it didn't go as planned but I did great. I had barbell flat bench, incline db bench, ez bar reverse curls and rear delt flyes.

Barbell Flat bench:

285x6.5 (Massive PR, only hit 4 going in to my latest meet)

DB Incline Bench:
45x10
90x15
2x10 90s

EZ Bar Reverse Curls:
4x20 50lbs

So since Iím going hunting for 5 days, Pete told me to push my 1RM forward a week. Today was my 1RM deadlift day, I hit the following:

264/120kg for 2
374/170kg for 2
485/220kg for 1
573/260kg for 1
628/285kg for 1 and a 5kg PR!

The goal is 639/290kg in about 7 weeks!

Today was supposed to be a day off but Pete told me to have some fun and test my 1RM squat with wraps since I want to compete 181 raw with wraps in July and September.

I did the following:

45x5
135x3
225x2
275x1
315x1
365x1
415x1
460x1
500x1

I weighed in this morning at 186.2, I'll probably be about 182-183 when I get back from this hunting trip. I don't want to be above 188 again so I can make the easy 181 water cut in July and September.
