Default Made my own Greek yogurt!

Itís really fucking easy with minimal labor but takes around 8 hours total. Iíve been struggling to find FULL FAT plain Greek yogurt in the stores in my area, the best they have is 2% if Iím lucky. I finally decided to look up how hard it would be to make as I already have experience fermenting LAB for other reasons. LAB is lactobacillus for short and is actually found in our diegestive system and the likes. I used whole milk in mine but you can use 2% if you want to make a lower fat version like they normally carry in the store.

Anyways for those of you who might be interested Iíll post up the YouTube links I used to get a general understanding of the process but I had also looked around through some other articles which I didnít save so do a small search on your own if you want a broader view on peoples methods. I did notice using a regular stove top sauce pot I burned the milk on the bottom a little and it might pay to use a slow cooker/crockpot like others mention. Definitely worth the time and effort for the amount you get back and overall cost.

I remember making my own yogurt 40 years ago...went something like bringing acidophilus milk to a quick boil then simmering at 140 for awhile then pouring it into a thermos then refrigerating...tasted okay if you added some fruit...the old days...
