Default Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Prolotherapy Injections??

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Prolotherapy Injections..

Has anybody here tried this procedure? I have patella tendonitis in the tendons that surround the knee caps from heavy squats over the years. Wondering if this treatment is rubbish or actually has decent success. Any feed back or personal experience is greatly appreciated.

Here are several links to check out.

Here is IFBB pro Fouad Abiad going through the procedure. He never comments in the video whether or not his knee pain has improved.

I'm no MD but in my opinion the theory of PRP is sound but I'd believe to truly benefit from the procedure you would have to endure weekly injections. Or even more frequently.

I have had it done 3 times, twice in my elbow and once in my shoulder. IMO it is much better for tears then tendonitos as it did very little for my tendonitos.

Default Prp

the jury is still out. a lot of it depends on the type of injury you sustained. I have friends who found it quite effective while others said not much change. also depends on your practioner and making sure they have the knowledge an experience. it is money maker for docs

I was just diagnose with this also in both knees.

Iíve had it for a while, used knee wraps to squat and can barely do heavy squats without pain.

I had my dr do an ultra sound the other day and found this.

He recommended PRP and I might try it.

I had dozens of prolotherapy injections in my tricep tendons from 2004-2006...they did nothing for tendonitis/tendonosis...I eventually ruptured a tricep tendon in 2007...ended up having surgery to reattach...I have not had problem with that arm since...but I went from benching 450 to 350...now at 61 I am lucky if I can get 300 once a year...
